Dear 2017 Me – An Open Letter

Don’t worry about those around you, who’s running better, who’s looking better. Who ran a faster time last weekend, who the big competition is at your next race? Don’t worry.
Focus on yourself. Focus on pushing yourself to greatness and pushing your own limits. Run your fastest, not your coaches fastest.
Always believe in yourself as much as you believe in your dreams.
Always believe.
Believe.

  1. Great advice. Growing up, my dad would constantly harp on me that there was always someone else out there better, stronger, faster, smarter… etc. I think it was his way of trying to motivate me. In the end though, I lost sight of this right here. It’s not about them, it’s about me. It’s about continually improving and learning. Am I better than them? I don’t know ands I don’t care. They don’t live my life and I don’t live theirs. Worry about what you have some control over… Yourself! Thanks for the post 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for sharing this. This is still a battle I’m trying to learn and trying to “perfect” but it’s a hard journey. Thank you so much for your insight !
